Palaeocurrents across the United States. These massive movements covered a distance of 1250 miles (2000 km).

The Navajo Sandstones in southern Utah contain grains of zircon which enable the source to be traced to the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania and New York, some 1250 miles (2000 km) away. These massive movements occurred during the Mesozoic.
