Neanderthal youth – 2006 reconstruction based on computer-assisted techniques.

Model of a Neanderthal youth reconstructed using modern, computer-assisted techniques. Tomographic scanning converted the skeletal material into a computer model, from which a physical model was constructed using stereolithography. Soft tissue was then extrapolated using a thin plate splining technique. Based on Neanderthal material from Devil's Tower, Gibraltar found in 1926 (Gibraltar 2).
